Step1 Pre-reading
1. Gulliver’s pictures
T: What can you see from the pictures? His ship hit the crops. The ships can’t go on moving.
2. Gulliver in Lilliput
T: Ask Ss to read the article to answer the 5wh-questions.Then ask Ss to answer one by one.(5个问题呈现在黑板上分别是:Who---Gulliver, tiny men; When--- morning; Where—On the beach; What---be tying; Why—be afraid)
Step 2 While-Reading
Read and answer
Para.1
1) What did Gulliver do after their ship crashed against the rocks?
2) Why did Gulliver fall down on the beach?(T 让学生读前先读一下这两个问题,然后自主朗读第一段)。学生回答第二个问题答案中有tired out, T板书后问:if you are tired out, what will you do? S1: I’ll sleep for 10 hours.
Para.2: What about Gulliver?
T or F questions
学生读完para.2 回答T or F questions ,然后让学生集体读句子。
Imagine: If you are Gulliver, How will you feel and what will you do? You can talk with each other. Can you read para.2 with emotion?
Para.3: 学生先集体朗读,读完请学生回答: How big was the small man? He was…….
Imagine: If you see such a small man, what will you say to him?
T: Can you choose the functions of the two questions?

T: 老师选一个同学做 Gulliver并问:If you see a small man, what will you do?

教师在课件上呈现: 4个问题针对para.4,回答后设计dialogue来巩固,教师和学生先示范,然后所有学生合作完成.

(老师让学生边读边完成图表然后用一个完成的句子说出来。最后学生扮演,边读边做出相应的动作)

Step3: Retell the story
老师在课件上给予图片及相关文字提示,让学生讨论来retell the story.学生四人一组一人负责一个段落,让小组内成员互相合作,四人都参与)
Step4 Post-reading
What do you think of Gulliver?( kind; friendly; brave; calm)
I think Gulliver was…… because he…..
T: Think about it. And tell me the reason. You can discuss with your partner.
Step5 Sum-up
T: Tell me what do you learn today?提问三个学生回答。最后给学生一个网址:可以继续读有关的书籍。
